  • Facilitates requests for media interviews, identifies content experts and designates spokespersons on behalf of the university as appropriate
  • Writes and distributes news releases
  • Facilitates emergency, crisis and critical communications
  • Coordinates responses to media and public information requests
Marketing and Public Relations
  • Manages and protects Appalachian’s brand and reputation
  • Manages key communications for the chancellor, provost and cabinet
  • Provides support for high-level university events to ensure the highest presentation standards
  • Creates information campaigns and communication plans for major university events and initiatives
  • Provides information, consultation and access to resources available for promoting the university
